Are you ready for an unforgettable fishing experience? Join us at Hubbard’s Marina and embark on a thrilling fishing adventure like no other. In this Fisher Report, we’ve gathered valuable insights from Captain Garrett, Captain Will, and Captain Frank to make your trip extraordinary.
Ideal Fishing Conditions
Now is the perfect time to hit the water. We’re blessed with impeccable weather, excellent visibility, and light passenger loads. Fewer people on board mean more one-on-one time with our knowledgeable captains and crew. Enjoy casual conversations and make memories as we reel in an abundance of fish inshore, near-shore, and offshore.
Inshore Highlights
For inshore enthusiasts, the spotlight is on hog fish and redfish. The redfish bite is on fire, and we’re spotting schools of these lively creatures. The recent influx of fresh water after Hurricane Dalia has attracted a vast number of redfish, making it an ideal time to catch them. Snook is making a comeback too, offering exciting opportunities for anglers.
Near Shore Adventures
While transitioning into fall, we’re still seeing a healthy population of mangrove snapper. Sheepshead is on the rise, and some flounder and late-season tarpon are still around. Not to mention, there’s no shortage of sharks for those seeking an adrenaline rush. It’s an excellent time to explore the near shore waters.
Captain Frank’s Hog Fish Expedition
Captain Frank is excited to announce our ten-hour trips dedicated to targeting hog fish. We recently had a fantastic trip, catching 20 keeper hog fish. If you’re wondering about tackle, a spinning reel in the 2500-3500 range will do the trick. We recommend using one-ounce knocker rigs or Carolina rigs with shrimp or crabs as bait.
Offshore Excitement
Our offshore adventures are just as thrilling. Captain Will and Captain Garrett have some insider tips to share. We’ve had great success with mangrove and gag grouper fishing, especially at night. The gags have been congregating in large numbers, providing fantastic opportunities for anglers. For these giants, we recommend 100-pound tackle and substantial hooks.
Tips for Success
To maximize your chances of success, keep your bait still on the bottom, especially when targeting groupers and mangroves. Avoid unnecessary movements that might scare off the fish. Patience and attention to detail can lead to bigger and better catches.
