Dolphin Sightings and Marine Life:
The waters around Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, and the surrounding islands have been alive with dolphin activity. Family groups of dolphins have been spotted playing and cruising through the inshore waters, providing spectacular viewing for our dolphin watching nature cruise and eco tour guests. These playful interactions are a highlight for everyone aboard, showcasing the social and intelligent nature of these remarkable marine mammals.
Sunset Cruises and Scenic Views:
Sunset cruises continue to deliver breathtaking experiences. The combination of perfectly scattered clouds and the vibrant hues over the Gulf of Mexico has made for some truly unforgettable evenings. Guests enjoy free beer and wine while taking in the stunning coastal scenery, making these cruises a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Pinellas County’s western coastline.
Seabird Rescues and Wildlife Conservation:
Our commitment to wildlife continues this week with several successful rescues. A pelican was found choking on a catfish on the beach, its throat obstructed by the fish’s barbs. We were able to safely capture the bird and remove the fish, giving the pelican a second chance. We also came across a snowy egret with a broken leg and coordinated with local rescuers to transport it to a rehabilitation center. Another night egret was discovered with a hook and line wrapped around its wing, which we successfully freed. On a recent dolphin watching nature cruise and eco tour, we helped release two pelicans that had become tangled on one of the nearby islands. These experiences remind us of the fragility of coastal wildlife and the importance of stewardship while enjoying Florida’s waterways.

Sea Turtle Nesting and Conservation Efforts:
The sea turtle nesting season is in full swing along Shell Key and Egmont Key. This past week, we identified multiple new nests and alerted local sea turtle rescuers to ensure their protection. Hubbard’s Marina even provides transportation for rescue teams to access the islands, giving them the ability to monitor and protect these vital nesting sites. Guests joining our shelling and eco tours get the unique opportunity to learn about sea turtle conservation firsthand, making each trip not only fun but educational.
