Capt. Dylan Hubbard here with your weekly update from Hubbard’s Marina!
We’ve had an incredible week on the water in central west Florida, with adventures stretching across Tampa Bay, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, Shell Key, Fort De Soto, and Egmont Key. From dolphin shows to island discoveries, here’s what’s been happening:

Dolphin & Wildlife Sightings

  • Playful dolphins stole the show this week, leaping alongside our boats and delighting guests on dolphin cruises, island trips, and shelling tours.

  • Gentle manatees were also spotted around Shell Key and Egmont Key, creating unforgettable encounters for both boat passengers and island explorers.

Sunset Cruises

Evenings have been breathtaking, with vibrant skies and dolphins often joining the view. Guests enjoyed free beer and wine aboard, making our sunset cruises the perfect way to end the day along the Gulf Coast.

Sea Turtle Nesting & Conservation

Sea turtle nesting season is in full swing along Shell Key and Egmont Key! This past week, we identified multiple new nests and worked with local sea turtle rescuers to ensure they’re properly protected. Hubbard’s Marina even provides transportation for rescue teams, giving them access to monitor and safeguard these vital nesting sites.

Guests on our shelling and eco tours have a front-row seat to this important conservation work, turning each trip into not only a fun adventure but also an educational experience about protecting our coastal wildlife.

Shelling & Island Discoveries

  • Shell Key and Egmont Key offered up plenty of treasures—conch shells, sand dollars, and even shark teeth for fossil hunters.

  • Perfect conditions in the shallows made it a great week for beachcombing and exploration.

  • Community Spotlight: Hubbard’s Marina is partnering in a major Egmont Key clean-up this weekend to restore the island after recent storms and protect its wildlife.

Seabird Rescues

Our crews successfully rescued multiple seabirds, including pelicans and egrets, coordinating with rehab centers to ensure they get the care they need. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our waters and islands safe for all wildlife.
